An Independent Community for Women Working Across Finance Operations
Every woman in finance operations has experience worth sharing and something new to learn.
Over the last few years, we’ve had the opportunity to meet thousands of finance professionals through the Institute of Financial Operations and Leadership.
Whether at conferences, training courses, webinars or networking events, one of the things we’ve enjoyed most has been seeing the connections that happen naturally when women working in finance operations come together. New ideas are shared, experiences are exchanged, introductions are made and professional relationships begin.
Those conversations don’t end when the event finishes. They continue over coffee, on LinkedIn and through the friendships and professional networks that develop over time.
It made us think.
How could we create more opportunities for those conversations to continue and grow?
That question became the starting point for Women Leading in Finance Operations.
This is an independent professional community for women working across finance operations. A place to connect with peers, share experiences, learn from one another and celebrate success throughout every stage of your career.
Our role is simple. We create opportunities for those conversations to happen. The value of this community will come from the women who are part of it, the experiences they share, the questions they ask, the encouragement they offer and the connections they build together.
The First Opportunity to Come Together
On 16 September, many of us will be meeting at the Finance Operations Leadership Conference (FOLCON) in London.
It will be the first opportunity for members of the Women Leading in Finance Operations community to come together in person, continue conversations, make new connections and meet other women working across the profession.
We’ll also be hosting our first Women Leading in Finance Operations panel discussion, chaired by Claire-Marie Boggiano, where an inspiring group of female leaders will share their experiences, perspectives and career journeys.

If you’re not, don’t worry. The community isn’t built around one event. London is simply the first of many opportunities for us to connect. We will be present at all IFOL events globally from now on so watch this space for further opportunities.
How We’ll Grow Together
We’re building this community one conversation at a time.
Over the coming months, we’ll create opportunities to connect through community discussions, webinars, events, member spotlights and shared learning. We’ll ask questions, celebrate achievements, introduce inspiring women from across the profession and create space for members to share their own experiences and ideas.
We don’t want this to be another place where information is simply pushed out.
We want it to be a community shaped by the people who are part of it.
