CFOM® Enrollment Criteria
Who Can Apply for the Certified Finance Operations Manager Program?
The Certified Finance Operations Manager (CFOM®) is an advanced professional credential designed for finance professionals who are ready to step into leadership roles within finance operations. To ensure that participants can fully benefit from the programme and successfully complete the rigorous curriculum, the CFOM requires applicants to have prior knowledge or practical experience in finance and accounting at a supervisory or management level.
To be eligible for CFOM enrollment, candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria:
Option 1 – Practical Experience
You have 18 months or more of hands-on experience in a finance or accounting role at a supervisory or management level. This ensures that you have direct exposure to managing financial processes, supervising teams, implementing controls, and handling operational responsibilities. Experience at this level provides the practical foundation necessary to engage with the advanced concepts, case studies, and real-world simulations included in the CFOM curriculum.
Option 2 – IFOL Certifications
You hold the CAPP (Certified Accounts Payable Professional) or CAPM (Certified Accounts Receivable Professional) certification from IFOL. These certifications demonstrate that you have already mastered core finance operations skills and are prepared to progress to the advanced leadership and strategic responsibilities covered in CFOM.
Option 3 – Academic Qualifications
You hold a degree-level qualification in Finance or Accounting. A relevant academic qualification provides a strong theoretical foundation and prepares you to engage with the technical, operational, and strategic components of finance operations leadership.
Providing Evidence of Eligibility
When applying for the CFOM programme, you will need to submit proof of your credentials. Acceptable evidence may include, but is not limited to:
An up-to-date resume or CV highlighting your relevant experience
Copies of membership or qualification certificates
Reference numbers or letters verifying completed professional credentials
This documentation ensures that all participants have the appropriate background to successfully complete the CFOM programme and gain maximum value from the certification.
