Amar Shah

Amar is the Chief Financial Officer of RJO, a derivatives brokerage firm with more than 50k clients worldwide.  Amar started his career in the commodity industry with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.  His primary function was within the Financial and Regulatory Surveillance Department which ensures regulatory and financial compliance of the various clearing firms that transact on the exchange.  Over his 14 years at the CME, he observed many changes in the industry and helped implement the enhanced customer protection rules enacted by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

After the CME, Amar transitioned to become the CFO of RJO in 2016.  Over the last several years, he has built a robust team to streamline financial processes and enhance internal controls.  He oversaw the implementation of various third party systems including a new payout platform for Brokers, a new Accounts Payable full service tool, a budget and variance analysis system, and a month end workflow.  Each one of these third party systems is a SaaS product and interfaces directly with the firm’s financial systems.

Amar sits on the Board of OASIS Investment Strategies LLC, RJO Financial LLC, RJO Securities LLC and is a committee member of the Fiduciary and Investment Committee and R.J. O’Brien (MENA) Capital Limited (Dubai).

Amar is a graduate of Marquette University, with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance.   He is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the AICPA.
